This DelawareSpends section provides a database of names, positions and salaries for employees of the State of Delaware, Kent County, Sussex County and Delaware's 19 school districts. Use the form below to search payrolls by Name, Position, Branch or Major Category, Agency and Subagency.

Data for Kent County was provided for calendar years 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. The 2009 data is as of January 1, 2009 through June 1, 2009. Data for Sussex County was provided for calendar year 2009 from January 1 through June 30, 2009. State and school district data was provided for calendar year 2009 - year-to-date information is calculated through June 30, 2009 for the state and school districts. No year-to-date pay or benefit data was calculated for hourly and stipend employees.
Other Notes:
(1) Pay “rate” data represent base pay only, not including overtime and other extras.
(2) The “Wages” column shows year-to-date total pay as of 6/30/09 for the State payroll and Sussex County; and as of 6/1/09 for Kent County. The "total" column represents total compensation including pay and benefits through the above noted dates. All historic information is for the full calendar year.
(3) Due to the data provided by the state, the pay rates of some full-time state employees are reported on a biweekly basis. Multiply biweekly amounts by 26 to estimate full-year base pay.
(4) Benefits data is calculated using formulas provided by the State of Delaware and Sussex County. Health benefit amounts are not included in this figure for the state data.
(5) Year-to-date wages are calculated from the beginning of the respective calendar year. All employees listed may not have been on the payroll for the entire calendar year.
(6) Overtime amounts for state and school district data is provided for calendar years 2007 and 2008. This information includes overtime and other payments/earnings above gross wages and salaries.
(7) New Castle County payroll information iincludes full calendar year data for all years except for 2009 in which wages are calculated through July 24, 2009, the date in which the data was requested.
